Being the Church in the Time of Coronavirus
Life has been interrupted. We are all in the midst of figuring out what this means for each of us, for our families, work situations and in the life of each of our congregations. A few minutes of looking online and scrolling through social media, it is apparent that many people are finding many ways of dealing with this interruption in new and creative ways. WVP is interested in hearing what your congregation is doing in the face of this disruption in order to share what is being among our sister congregations.
We would like to compile a master list of what it is each congregation is doing and disseminate it in various formats—on the WVP website, a printable document, highlighting congregations on the WVP Facebook page, etc. By doing this, we hope to encourage church leaders and members to see what other congregations are doing and what is possible as well as for churches to share their successes. If you choose to take part, please reply to cshaw@whitewatervalley.org. Include your response to any or all of the prompts above. This can be in a narrative format, a bulleted list, pictures, video clips, however it is you would like to respond. Please identify which church you are leading, any links to your online resources, and possibly contact information for members or leaders of the church who are heading each particular ministry or mission. Please make sure that you have the permission of each person in any shared media. None of us know exactly how long life will be interrupted and what the rapidly evolving societal situation will eventually bring. What we do know, however, is the promise of life through our faith in Christ. Let us share this faith and the Good News at its heart. |
