Muncie--First P.C.FPC Muncie has attempted to do Facebook Live for the past two Sundays with some difficulties (we had not been sharing online worship until now). This Sunday we are working to create a pre-recorded worship intentionally geared to be seen at home. This will be shared through our YouTube page and Facebook where we will have a live watch party at our normal time of worship.
FPC Muncie’s elders and deacons have each taken about 4 or 5 families and contacted them individually. We send emails still each week and I create updates on the Facebook page. FPC Muncie is using Zoom to host meetings for the session, deacons and committees along the way. I am intentionally working to now allow the church to become “pastor driven” but communicating with me committee chairs and supporting them in still being active. FPC Muncie is also beginning a Zoom Bible study on Tuesday’s and Thursdays. I have an active #campsocialdistance thread happening on my personal Facebook page that includes lots of members (I post 3-5 times a day with the feel of being at summer camp). We are hoping to use Zoom to create an ecumenical Good Friday Service with 7 pastors in Muncie (2 PCUSA, 2 ELCA, 3 UMC) - we hope this will be very meaningful for our congregations and a sign of unity for our city. We hope to host Zoom social times during the week as well where people can simply log on and be in fellowship with each other. |
