Presbyterian Women

The PW Symbol--The original Presbyterian Women's symbol, designed by Sarah Abbott in 1988, was updated in 1999 to carry the organization into the twenty-first century. The cleaner lines and sharper image strengthen the original design while retaining its ability to visually express the Presbyterian Women purpose.

Presbyterian Women is a church-wide group organized at all levels of the PC(USA):

congregations, presbyteries, synods, and church-wide (General Assembly)

Presbyterian Women determines its own leadership, program and budget. At the national level the organization:

  • provides programming ideas and leadership resources,
  • offers opportunities for service,
  • and advocates for action on contemporary issues and concerns.

Reasons to have Presbyterian Women in your Church

  • Presbyterian Women support mission in the church locally, nationally and worldwide.
  • Presbyterian Women provide leadership skills training.
  • Presbyterian Women is a secondary group that provides monetary support to in-church activities and church upkeep.
  • Presbyterian Women identify with organized groups to provide resources for all women.
