Boggstown--First P.C.First, we’ve canceled (like other churches) all in-person activities. We’re communicating via, phone, text, and email.
As providence has it, we feel blessed that we were working through a study of Godspeed: A Seven-Week Study Guide when COVID-19 changed the trajectory of so many. The series has continued because folks have been able to watch video segments at home. In addition, I’ve been able to email study questions and prepared reflections on scripture each week. This series will take us through Easter. I’m not a techie (actually, my first impulse toward technology is often flavored with aversion), however, I am beginning to look into Google Meets, Zoom , and other options to communicate with BPC. Katherine has been working from home for a month, and plans to tutor her husband. Also, I want to drive to the residences of the BPC faithful, and from my vehicle (and them on their porches) will pray for their families, sing the Gloria Patri, read scripture, and conclude with a benediction. I’m currently mapping the area for the best route, and investigating whether the stay-at-home ordinance prevents me from doing this. I’m calling it, Drive-Thru Worship. |
